Now enjoy your story...
Rachael had settled into a normal routine, weeks had turned to months since she left the hospital and it’s been hard to keep up with the I don’t care attitude she was exhibiting, she was quickly losing weight and she was happy about that, she had started to feel restless about staying at home, she had put calls through to offices that she submitted her C.V to check if she still stood the chance. She would feel better if she had somewhere to go.
She used to think music will be her life career but she was yet to find or recover the passion she lost. She was back to the choir but it made no difference, she had kept refusing to take any solo, she did not feel comfortable singing in front of the church who knows the history of her pregnancy, now that she lost it, maybe, just maybe she will muster the courage to hold the microphone and sing sweet melodies to the Lord. She had been working on finding her fellowship with God, she had drifted too far and she knew she needed him now more than she needed to breath.
Michael was making her feel guilty, he’s been too caring, coming home on time, buying her gifts, making attempts to keep her company which she politely turns down though she was dying to. She was enjoying the attention and she did not want it to stop, she just hope he can be patient, she realized she did not hate him as much as she thought, actually, she did not hate him at all. She was just bitter and wanted him to feel what she felt. She knew he was hurt but he had not reacted back so she was beginning to believe he was serious about what he said. The I love you and I am going to proof it part.
It was another Friday, she had gone to the market and shopped for the weekend. She had been busy cooking and cleaning up when she got a text message.  She wiped her hand with the napkin and read the message. She could not believe her eyes.
“What! Oh Lord please let it be true.” She said excitedly and she dialed the number to confirm if it was for real or not and it appeared she will be appearing before the panel for a job interview on Monday. She squealed in delight. Her mind was racing with excitement, she made a mental note of the cloth that will be suitable, she remembered that her hair needed to be done and thank God she does not need to travel out of town. She has decided to keep it to herself until she gets the job, She knew her husband has got connections but she needed the satisfaction of getting the job by herself so she gets to call the shots and she had a feeling he might not be comfortable with her starting work like that without his involvement but she will not bother about that for now.
“Is anybody home?” Rachael heard her husband’s voice and pretended to be busy, she dipped her hand inside water and picked the napkin just to give him an impression that she was busy. Actually she was busy she only took a short break. She had put the phone aside immediately she heard the door open.
“You are welcome.” She said with a faint smile.
“Thank you my dear, how was your day?” He asked like he always does lately.
“Fine.” She said flatly though she fought the urge to share the good news with him, if they were still friends, he would have been the first person to hear about the job interview. But well they were not those people anymore. Times have changed.
“Are you not going to give your husband a welcome hug after a long day at work?”
“What?” She asked shocked at him as he walked towards her as if it was a usual thing to do to hug him.
“I think we both deserve a hug.” He said spreading his arms around her before she recovered from the shock.
Yes she needed a hug, actually much more than a hug. She was still stiff from the shock of it but when he refused to let go of her and when she could not gather the courage to push him away, she relaxed. A pressed a soft kiss on her head and whispered into her ears.
“Thank You Baby.” Then he released her, gave her a bright smile and picked his abandoned bag and suit.
Rachael felt her knees go weak. What was that for? Was that one of his ways of
melting her resolve?  She thought, she could still feel his firm grip, how come she
missed something as easy as hugging. She almost ran after him but she will be
playing into his trap.
She marched back into the kitchen to get his food ready. How come he is so cool about himself lately, he is even happier, always smiling while she was trying to look serious and stay mad at him. He was making it really difficult for her to go by her initial plan.

Lesson
Don't try to act to strong when in front of you is the solution to the real problem, sometimes show your pain so you can gain at last.
