IMPERFECT ME 6

EPISODE 6
November  18; 12:00am
Michael’s blackberry beeped and it was a ping from Rachael, he was surprised because it’s been a while. They used to chat into the night before but that felt like a life time ago. He missed having someone he could just be himself with. He opened the chat quickly and his heart melted.
“happy birthday dear, I pray that your joy be full as you celebrate IJN. Hope I was the first to wish you HBD. Sure Leah must have planned a big party for you, so where is the venue of the party. Need to sleep now. I will call you in the morning. Gnite birthday boy. Cheers.”
He read it over and over again. He had not even remembered it was his birthday, and for Leah planning a party, that would be only in his dreams. Well she probably will because he remembered vividly that it was in a party planned for him by Rachael and  Luke and some close friends in the church that he really noticed Leah. He had been seeing her around but that night she stood out wearing a simple black gown with a red shoe and a red purse and that very innocent smile which he has realized was not so innocent now.
What she did that touched him was when one of the kids that was present spilled his drink all over himself and stumbled, she dropped her purse and ran towards the little boy since his mum seemed to be out of sight.
The fact that she didn’t bother about how she was gorgeously dressed and should not get stained made him pay attention to her even when not many people noticed the scene. Well maybe it was part of the plan to get his attention; he had a soft spot for kids and admired ladies who loved to care for kids even when they don’t have to.
The Leah he imagined then surely was a different one though they share the same body. He rolled on his stomach and re-read the message again and smiled to himself before typing the reply which was not as easy as he thought it will be. He typed and deleted until he decided to make it simple and short.
“thanks a lot dear. I will be expecting the call. Goodnight and God bless you.”
He pressed the send key and waited to see if she would reply but it seem like she had gone to bed for real.
“It’s my birthday. Thank you Lord!” He sang and prayed committing the next one year into God’s hands and still Leah did not call till he slept off.
Rachael read the reply but had to hold back from replying again. She did not want to start what she can’t finish. “Lord can you please send my man and help me to stop thinking fondly of Michael. He sure is not available.” She prayed as tears rolled down her cheeks and she fell into a fitful sleep.
What she did not know is that Michael's birthday would cause a big change in the history of her life,  was she ready to handle what lies ahead? Day break lurks some hours away...

IMPERFECT ME 5

Episode 5
Michael went out with his colleague to eat lunch, they were discussing about work when the subject changed after he received a call from Leah, another annoying call mind you.
“So that was your fiancée right?”
“Yes, can we just eat and forget about the call.” He begged.
“Okay, fine. It’s just that I am still baffled that you left that sweet girl for this one, I am not saying she is bad but guy, you are definitely not happy. I know you love your Leah so much but you don’t seem to have the contentment you had with Rachael.” He observed.
“Tunde what do you mean by that?” he asked feeling defensive. “And you all should stop getting the wrong ideas, Rachael was and is still just a friend, well it may sound unrealistic but the two women have their place in my heart and Rachael understands why won’t you all understand too.” 
“Just friends indeed, you guys were happy together, before Leah became official, Rachael was always there for you at office events where everyone came with a date and of course because you are very Christian, you would not want to come with a random lady and she was loved by all. That your Leah is quite rude and saucy, it’s like she thinks she owns you and it’s annoying. Guy I am not sure you heard well this time, you should go back and pray.” Tunde said without a sense of apology.
“You know what let’s just assume this conversation never happened. I love Leah and I will marry her.”
“Okay, fine but I still think…Tunde lunch is almost over, let’s go.” He said trying to hide his agitation.
“but I have not finished my food.” He complained.
“If you had continued eating instead of bothering over my love life you would be done by now. I am leaving here in five minutes so hurry up.”
“Man you harsh o, thank God you know God, it would have been worse.” Tunde teased.
“I guess I have to leave now since…Hey common chill now, let me just finish my meat, that’s the best part of the food you know?” He said picking up the lap of the chicken that was served to him and gave it a deep bite then smiled in satisfaction at the provoked Michael.   
Michael could not get his mind off what his friend said and many others have stylishly pointed it out. He knows he has a soft spot for Rachael but it won’t be right to be courting someone and thinking about another. He preaches against it but if only he had not tried to proof a stupid point to himself, if only he had not allowed Leah talk him into proposing, if only he had really listened to be sure it was God leading him into this. Now he was confused and does not want to hurt Leah, she has been through a lot already in relationships though he feels there is more than she was letting on, he plans to find out some things when he goes to see her family that’s if he goes eventually.
“Michael!!! Let’s go am through.” Tunde tapped him wondering what he was thinking about so deeply.
“Oh okay.” He jerked back to consciousness.
“Is everything alright?”
“Yeah sure, all is well. Let’s go, we are running late already.” He said picking up his car keys.
Tunde did not press on the issue, he knew once Michael says it is well, there is a lot that needs to be well. Michael is too good for that lady, Lord please open his eyes to see it before it’s too late.
They drove in silence to the office and when they got to the last turn Michael broke the ice. “I am sorry for talking that way earlier, I can’t say  I am confident about anything right now but Rachael is so good that even if I want to start talking love right now, she would decline, she is not the type and you know Leah is not a soft meat to chew, I don’t want to stress the poor girl but I appreciate your concern, I guess I will have to figure it out soon.” He said pulling into the parking space outside the office building so he would just drive off quickly after settling the remaining table work he has for the day.
“I bet you will and please do it fast before it’s too late.” Tunde said and stepped out of the car. Michael hesitated a bit before he opened his door.
In reality he had no plans or idea on how to figure it out, only if his life was like a movie, he would fast forward it to the end and see how everything plays out but now OYO is his case.

IMPERFECT ME 4

EPISODE 4
Rachael banged the door angrily as she entered the house, she removed her shoes and was walking barefooted to her room when her father called her.
“Rachael, is everything okay?” He asked though he knew the answer.
“Daddy you know what? I am tired and frustrated, why can’t I get a job for Christ sake. I am doing and I have done all I need to do but it’s just so frustrating that the system is corrupt, can you imagine what that stupid man was telling me to… Hey! Young lady mind your language.” Her dad cautioned.
“Am sorry but that man needs to be thrown into the lagoon, daddy you know I am qualified for this job, I am good, I deserve it, I have gone through all the stages of the interview and I have done excellently but now I am back to zero point feeling like a slime with no self worth and no job.”
“Hey! What has gotten into you, you are not my daughter, since when do you allow situations dictate your attitude. I will not listen to you if you refuse to be civilized okay?” He scolded.
“But daddy…” tears ran down her cheeks and that melted his heart.
“Now come to me, come and tell daddy about that man that has got you so angry.” He said opening his arms and she dropped the shoes on the floor with her bag and walked towards him. She needed that hug urgently even though she knew it will undo the fountain in her heart.
“You know doing the right thing is hard right? Can you imagine that he gave the job to the other lady simply because I refused to agree to his terms but daddy I was qualified for it…I was.” She cried and her dad patted her back soothingly till she cried her fill.
“You know that life is not always as we want it to be. God has a plan, I believe you have a bright future ahead of you, look at you, you are my one and only beautiful, intelligent, strong, smart and highly talented daughter with the voice of an angel. God has blessed you so much my dear, don’t let the stupidity of men stop you from counting your blessing. While you wait for that job, do what makes you happy after all I am not complaining, I have enough to feed you and other large families put together. Since you insist you need to do this yourself, I will let you but I don’t enjoy seeing you hurt.” He said still holding her to him.
“Thank you daddy for reminding me of who I am, it’s always easy to forget when things are tough and you and mum have given me everything and more, I don’t lack nothing and you hardly deprive me of my right and so it’s a new feeling to me, I really need to try to cope by myself like my age mates do.” She said.
“I guess I and your mother over indulged you but then you still turned out to be a loving lady who loves God. That’s our only joy. We are so proud of you. Do you know how I feel whenever you climb that pulpit to minister? I thank God for giving me a one in a million child, I could not get more than one but then that one is worth more than ten children. I love you and I want you to be happy, now promise me you will be happy.” He said smiling at her.
“Thank you daddy. I love you too and yes! I will be happy even though I wish that man can be sacked, the world don’t need such exploiters, I wonder how many ladies he has messed up that way. It’s so unfair.” She pouted angrily as she got up.
“Life is unfair my child but there is always an end for the wicked. Now go and freshen up before your mum comes back.”
“Okay daddy” She walked slowly to her room but not as distraught as she was when she just arrived. She would shower and sleep away her annoyance, she was strong and would be fine.
She wished to God that she had her friend. If all things were equal, Michael would have been here in a heartbeat but nothing seems equal now and she doubts if it will ever be. She dashed into her room as fresh tears ran down her cheeks, not because she lost the job but she knew she has lost her friend and confidant and there is nothing to be done to redeem the situation. Would things have been different if I had not called off his bluff when he said he wanted to date me?
She gave a frustrated cry when she heard her father’s footsteps.
“Daddy I am okay, don’t bother coming down please.” She said rushing into the bathroom whether a cool shower will wipe away her problems…Michael where are you? She cried in her heart as the water blended with her tears.

IMPERFECT ME 3

Episode 3
Rachael was curled up on her bed humming a song when her phone rang, she wondered who it could be and since she sent several applications out for jobs, she’s been believing God to do a miracle so every call made her feel on edge, yeah she has been busy recording one of her songs in the studio. Michael had encouraged her to take a step though she always thought she was not ready but thinking about it now, she realized that one will wait for life waiting for the perfect timing. God speaks to us using the voice of men too and well her parent too encouraged her.
She had always wished she had another sibling but her mum was unable to conceive after she had her, she had several miscarriages and was told she might get hurt if she took in again. Now she was all grown up and has given up hope of getting a younger sibling but she had friends though not so many, Michael had been and still is one even if she has been trying to withdraw a bit since his girlfriend does not seem so pleased whenever they are together. Leah acts like it’s okay, but it’s obvious even to the blind that it’s not.
“Rachael, what is this I am hearing about your Michael proposing or dating Leah, is she not the same one that joined the church about five months ago?” Her mum had asked sometime ago.
“Yes mummy, they are compatible right, Michael is madly in love with her.” She answered innocently.
“So what are you going to do about it?” Her mum asked.
‘Do? Well I am going to love her as my friend’s wife to be, actually we are getting along quite well.” Rachael said.
“Oh! I see.” Was all her mum said and she has not stopped wondering what was expected of her. She loves Michael so much, he was the big brother she never had plus he was her friend too and so she was happy he finally found someone after so long, he finally picked one and well in less than a year, after his pastoral school and ordination, they must have been through with counseling here in church and he would be a husband. That was a very funny thought and she could not wait to watch him become a father since he loves kids a lot. But hopefully, she would have found a man that makes her feel loved, she knew she is loved but lately, she too wants to be special to one man but who? It has crossed her mind a couple of times that she and Michael could be a couple but when he finally told her about Leah, she laughed at her own foolishness. He will always see her as the younger sister or just a friend. Her phone rang again and brought her out of her reverie, she checked for the caller ID and it turned out to be Michael, she made a mental check to see if they were supposed to see today.
“Since when did I start following a time table to see and talk to my friend?” She asked out loud not realizing she had touched the green button.
“Hello, Rachael are you there?” His voice reached her ears and she looked down on her phone in horror.
“I hope you did not hear that?” She asked feeling embarrassed.
“Well I did and hey! You know there are no time tables but you made it so, I don’t know if it’s me but I think you are avoiding me and I don’t like it.” He complained.
Rachael sighed deeply. She was trying to do the right thing but the longer it gets the tougher it is and Leah is not making things easier, she has been acting weird lately and she wondered if something went wrong but when she talked about it to Michael he seemed irritable and avoided the subject altogether.
“So tell me, what was it that you did that made Michael like you this much, I believe you know him a bit better than I do and since I will be getting married to him soon, I was hoping you could give me some tips.” Those were some of the things Leah had said to her on that thanksgiving Sunday.  It’s about five weeks now but she has been avoiding any private talks with the woman.

Michael, you are engaged and so you are not supposed to be close to another female, well not as close as we were, things changed you know, I believe it will be good to keep things as they are okay?” She said with difficulty, she misses her friend but saying it out will be sending the wrong message.
“Rachael I don’t want to hear a word about that woman for now, I feel like I am losing all my friends because of her, things are not going like I thought. If you think you are the only one affected, call Luke, he also is avoiding me just because of her, he is now claiming he does not want trouble.”
“Hey please calm down, don’t go and say what you don’t mean. That woman loves you and she ensures the whole world knows. Please settle your differences and focus on the future you plan to build together.”
‘Are you listening at all? I really don’t want to talk about her today. I did not say we broke up, we had a slight misunderstanding, actually that happens too frequently and I am just tired and frustrated, I need to talk to someone, I have missed talking to you and right now I am bored, so bored, Luke said he was busy and so you are the only one else left to be called.” He explained.
“Okay?”
“Well I was thinking I should come over or you come over, anyone you prefer.” He said calmly.
“hmm! Hope your fridge is full, I will enjoy finishing everything today.” She said trying to lighten him up and he chuckled.
“Well let’s see how much you can take into that pencil stomach of yours. And hey! Say hello to mummy for me, tell her I miss her.” He said.
“You will have to tell her that yourself, now let me get prepared and you know there is choir rehearsals today, maybe you will drop me off in church.”
“No problem, just start coming now please?”
“Okay, I will be on my way soon.” She said clicked the red button and stepped out of her bed and entered the bathroom to shower.

She selected a simple floral gown from her wardrobe with a pair of sandals that fitted the dress. She took a last look on herself in the mirror and smacked her lips together to adjust her lip gloss.
“Mum! I will back soon, I am going to see Michael he did not sound so good when he called earlier and since I am bored, let me check on him and if I succeed in dragging him out, we would go to church later for my choir rehearsal.” She explained to her mum who was lying down on the cushion in the sitting room watching 700 Club on TBN.
Her mum sat up right and adjusted her blouse. “You said you are going to see Michael right? How long will he continue to cling to you, I don’t want you to get hurt. He is engaged and I want you to find a decent man to love and care for you, if not for the way things went that boy would have made a fine son in-law, we thought you both would get more serious but I guess the Lord has other plans.” She said soberly.
“MUMMY!” She stressed. “We have discussed this before and I told you all is well, I think I and Michael are better off as friends and I too have been giving him space but he seem not to like it, he thinks I am angry with him or something.” She explained but her mum was not convinced.
“You see, he wants you around and you are bent on proving to him that all is well between you both, I am not saying you should stop talking to him but baby, you are my only child and I don’t want any man using you as a back up plan.”
“Mum please stop, I am not his back up plan, he will marry Leah and we will still be friends but of course we can’t be as close as we used to be, I will miss that but I believe I too will meet a man. So let Leah have him please.” She said and swallowed the bile in her throat. It did not feel right saying those words out.
Her mother stood up from the chair, walked towards her and led her to seat down. Her mum was a very understanding woman, she had worked in the youth church for so long and she understands and detects things you would want her not to see, though it was not always convenient but she felt free to talk to her mum unlike some other ladies her age.
“Rachael talk to me, I know it’s not been easy but I am here for you. I know and see it in your eyes that you love him though you did not plan it that way, you are such a sweet girl with a clean heart and you are also a loyal friend. You are stronger than I gave you credit for but I don’t know how long you can go handling these feelings. I have no problem with him being with Leah but there is something about that lady. Maybe it’s me but I hope Michael made the right choice.” The woman said meditatively.
Rachael’s resolve melted and her brows furrowed with worry. She felt weak and leaned back on the sofa.
“Mummy I have been feeling like a terrible person for having such feelings for him, I tried to get close to Leah so the reality of it can sink in, I tried to ignore him and relate on a safe distance but the feeling is still there, he has no idea how I feel and he never will. I did not know I loved him till he told me he wanted to ask Leah out, I gave him the go ahead like a friend should and pretended that all was well but I know I can handle it, I want him to be happy and since Leah is his choice even when I was close by then it must not be God’s will for him to be with her not me and I accept it that way.” She said dabbing her eyes with her handkerchief.
“God will reward your loyalty and give you the best man for you. I am proud to have you as my daughter. Keep making me proud.”
“Thank you mummy.” She said and gave her mum a hug when her phone started ringing. She knew who it was and did not bother checking.
“Mum, I will see you later in the evening. Love you.” She said and hurried out of the house before she answered the call with her mum’s word ringing in her ears “BACK UP PLAN! Is that all I am to him now?”

Is it alright to indirectly chase away your partner’s friends because you want them for yourself alone, third parties are risky in a relationship but where and how do we draw the line?

IMPERFECT ME 2

Leah looked outside the window as he drove. She was lost in thoughts as she considered her plight. She had told him she was not a novice, at least he would not think she had lived a saintly life all the way and expect her to be a virgin, but then she would want to take things slow; she was not ready to allow another “church brother” have his way with her.
She knew this one is different, he is in his pastor’s school and well he thinks I will make a perfect pastor’s wife but how do I start telling him I am not what he thinks I am, I am far from the woman he perceives me to be, I know the right act to put up to be considered a good and godly lady. He had even told me my past does not matter, would he really be saying that if he knew what was in that past?
She adjusted slightly in her sit and thought about the main problem at the moment . RACHAEL! she is a threat to this relationship, though I tried to find faults, the girl is relentless, ever loving and smiling plus she has the voice that brings down angels, what normal guy would not fall for her especially seeing that she will make a better wife to Michael. She sighed. Probably God has heard my prayers for mercy and has given me one of the best, why would I let him slip out of my hand? She thought looking sideways as he drove. My secrets stays with me, if he loves me as he claims, he will love the baggage I come with. She thought decisively.
“Leah! Are you okay?” He asked for the third time and she shook back to consciousness.
“Oh! Sure I am fine, just a bit tired.” She lied but how much longer will this lie continue?
“Okay, you seemed absent - minded but let me take you home, I need to see some people later in the evening, and I will be going with Luke to see Rachael’s dad for…”
“You know what, I don’t need details just take me home now.” Leah said annoyed.
“Like seriously? But what have I said wrong again?” He asked confused.
“Nothing,  just take me home please.” She said looking outside the mirror.
“What then were you both laughing about, how come you acted like you guys are best friends but you keep nagging me about her when she is not around. Are you jealous of her or what because if you are I would be disappointed, that lady says nothing ill about you. She accepted you like a sister in-law, what then is the problem?” He asked angrily.
“Hey please don’t raise your voice at me, how else do you want me to act with her when she never gives someone an opportunity to be mad at her, she is so sweet and more than one person has said how they wish you were with her not me, those church people are just ungrateful, I have served faithfully and still they don’t like me, everybody sings her praise, it’s Rachael this or that and she seem to be everywhere, in the drama she is good, in bible studies oh! She is wonderful and hey! She sings too but I am good at all those except maybe in the singing so why don’t they love me like they love her?  it’s so annoying.” Leah burst out ignoring the shock on Michael’s face.
“Woman who are you exactly?” He asked perplexed.
“Oh please you know me, let’s just go please, I think I am having slight head ache.” She said rubbing her temple.
Michael put his anger in check, he would not want people finding out how mad he gets when angry and oh Lord help him, he was really mad at Leah right now, to think that he thought so highly of her was alarming, to think she only wanted to be noticed was a shock to him, Rachael does not do those things for the notification. That’s just who she is.
He drove off and refused to say a word to her throughout though she had started to apologize when she noticed her outburst didn’t go down well with him, he did not want her thinking he was taking Rachael’s side but that part of him that was fond of her, that part of him that knew she did not deserve to be talked about wrongly was angry. He had been asking the Lord to help him with anger issues and well if it were some two years back, Leah might be trekking home or trying to catch a cab after he finish blasting her with words but he has come a long way and would not allow her ruin this beautiful Sunday.
“Leah please just come down, I told you I had other appointments.” He said coldly as he parked in front of her gate waiting for her to highlight.
“I am so sorry, I know I talked foolishly and allowed myself to be carried away by jealousy but please forgive me. I will not question your love for me again I promise, I just can’t afford to lose you.” She said as two drops of tears ran down her smooth face.
Michael hated to see her cry and she knew it. “Will you please stop crying?”
“But I said I am sorry…” She sobbed.
“Oh Leah it’s okay. Please stop crying, I can’t stand it when you cry.’ He said putting his hand on her shoulder as she wiped the tears with the back of her hand.
“I really need to get going now, I will call you later so we can talk just promise me you will not cry again.” He said though he was still angry at her, she had softened him up but that does not erase the fact that he still has a lot of thinking to do about if Leah was really the one or not because of all mistakes to be made, he could not afford to make a mistake in Marriage, if she is not the one for him, how would he tell her off?

IMPERFECT ME!

EPISODE 1
The people were full of joy as Rachael led the praise, members danced happily raising chairs and flying their white handkerchiefs, the pastors were ecstatic, leaping in a circle and some danced round the church, it was the end of the month thanksgiving and many were dressed in their native attires dancing their cultural dances and yes when you talk about dynamism, you should call Rachael. She sings perfectly in all the dialect and you would not know which one she really is. Everyone loved and sang her praise, she has the voice of an angel that has a soothing effect on a weary soul.
“My God sister Rachael, I was really blessed by your ministration today, may the Lord increase your grace and anointing.” Elder Mofe’s wife said.
“Thank you mummy, Glory be to God!” She replied humbly.
“You are every mother’s dream of a daughter in-law; you are smart, anointed, beautiful and still very humble. If my son were not engaged, I would not have hesitated to hook you up.” The woman said sadly.
“Haa! Mummy, I am very humbled ma but Esther is very lovely and I think they are good together. I can’t wait for their wedding day; I even have a special song to sing for them.” She said hoping the woman drops the talk.
“Oh! My dear, you see why I love you? You have the heart of Gold.” The woman said not relenting and Rachael prayed for a distraction and yes it came.
“Mama you look so beautiful today, this jewelry must have cost a fortune, see how elegant it is on you, daddy must be proud of you.” Michael said holding the woman who was smiling satisfactorily.
“Michael you have come with your flatteries right? You should hurry up and tie the knot and redirect these compliments on your wife.” She said blushing like a teenager.
“Hahaha! Yes mummy, you are right?”  Rachael said happily because the attention was not on her anymore.
“Mummy, I think daddy is waiting for you now.” Michael pointed towards the exit so as to escape her whims. They said good bye to the woman and Rachael turned laughing at him.
“What’s funny now? I don’t know why that woman can’t stand to see a bachelor or spinster, she wants to get everyone married and I am not ready for her talks today, I was coming to save you only for her to turn it on me.” He complained as they walked out of the church.
“Oh well, thanks for saving me, she was wishing I were the supposed daughter in-law but Esther is best for her son. I am still enjoying my spinsterhood, I have dreams you know?” She said dreamily.
“Sure you do but you have to start thinking about it too, everyone is proud of you, I am proud of you too you know?” He said smiling down at her and she smiled back.
“At least you have Leah, and you guys suit yourselves… Now where is she self, we have some unfinished business to talk about.” Rachael asked looking out for Leah and she sighted her.
“Okay, I guess we will see later, let me catch up with her.” Rachael said waving him and walking towards Leah with a bright smile.
Michael watched as the ladies exchanged hugs and smiled to himself; they were two special ladies in his life. Rachael was and will always be his best female friend, she was lovely and caring and in this town she was the younger sister he never had and her parent loved him equally.
He heard their laughter and he remembered how everyone used to think he will end up with Rachael but then Leah came into the picture, she was talented, loving and she seem to have experience in ministry, she will make a good pastor’s wife, he watched her carefully and asked questions, she had gotten a job here and her family were far away but they were making arrangement to go pay her parent a visit. Rachael surprised everyone by her maturity, he felt the sting of guilt but ignored it, after all she was still his friend and Leah loved her equally.
“So I will see you guys later, mum wants me to make her hair this afternoon.” Rachael said hugging them.
“Okay love, don’t forget what we discussed, I will give you a call tomorrow.” Leah called after her.
“Sure I won’t. Now am going for real.” She said and waved them good bye.
“Hmmhmm!” Leah cleared her throat to bring Michael’s attention back to her.
“Hey! Let’s go right?” Michael asked.
“Yes and I don’t know why you looked lost as you watched her go. I know that lady is sweet and everyone loves her plus yes, she is your best friend but I am your fiancée, don’t get me wrong, I like her alright but sometimes I just get jealous and I keep wondering why you are so fond of her.” Leah complained.
Michael could not believe his ears. “Leah why are you saying all these? In case you did not know, Rachael has always been around but it was not her I chose, it was you. Now why are you feeling in secured huh? You don’t make me happy when you talk that way. What I have with Rachael is just friendship in a brotherly way. I love you and you must not doubt it.” He said and Leah sobered up.
“I am sorry, I have really been through hell in past relationships and I can’t afford heartbreak, it will kill me this time around.”
“Hey! God forbid. You won’t die and no one will be breaking anybody’s heart here. “He opened the door of the car for her to enter and he turned round and entered the car. He took her hands in his and looked into her worried face.
“Baby, I love you and want to spend the rest of my life with you, I want you to be the mother of my kids, and you know how much I fantasize about them. Fine, before you came into the picture, I was somehow infatuated with her but then she brought me back to my senses, romantic love with Rachael just would not work and can’t you see how much she loves you.”
“Yeah, she does.” Leah answered weakly but her mind was in disarray, she has not yet brought herself to tell him the whole truth about her past. What would she do if he finds out and decides he cannot live with it?

Add Value not just Resolutions

Good day friends, it's been an awesome 2016 and I believe the New Year will be greater in manifolds in Jesus name. As usual,  I bet a lot of us have our resolutions written down and the rest of us have thought them out in our minds waiting for the New Year to come.
It is a norm in the financial institutions, especially banks,  I remember those days when we prepare balance sheet in class, if one item is missing, you are sure not to have a balanced sheet,  well why not sit down and take stock of the goals and resolutions you made when 2016 was a New Year. 
You might think you have not achieved much but still be grateful because here is another opportunity for you to make the best of the New Year.
Now,  a lot of people spent most of their 2016 passing blames and insulting the government, yeah,  it was a tough year but I am amazed when I go out and see new structures, and see people buying new cars,  could it be that they have two heads or maybe like many myopic minds think,  they will claim they do money rituals. While I think those things exist, I also believe there are people who know how to draw out gold from the the rock.
Don't get tired yet,  just stay with me please....
So complains and frustration was the order if the day for many people but I have a question for you? What value have you added to make you think you deserve a whole lot of money. Don't say there is no market. Well that's why there is something called self development. Do you ever wonder why some people in the same business prosper more than their colleague, Africans please don't think about juju now,  it's there but not everyone is into it.
So what am I saying people, you could write a text book on resolutions but it will be fulfilling all requirements of things people do in the New Year,  if you don't think of developing your self and adding value, if you thought 2016 was tough,  the New Year might not be any different.
If any one wants to eat,  they must work and not just work,  render quality services and expect the best. This is not the only requirement for the success of the New Year but it is an important part of it. Change your mindset, think about what value to add,  if you are a tailor, step up your game,  if you make shoes,  browse and get more knowledge to know trending styles... Whatever your hand finds doing do it well. If you can talk,  don't talk away, learn the act of public speaking, who knows if that's where your breakthrough lies.
By all means,  invest in learning,  develop your self and the people you are begging for money today would run after you because of the value you can add to their life. Don't be a thorn in people's flesh,  be a blessing.
Wish you a happy New Year in advance. Remember, it's not about adding resolutions.  It's about adding value. See you next year.
