You are not rubber might be the oddest title to give a piece,
Yet it is a perfect description of who you are not.
You are being stretched on all sides, strained by external factors,
Yes! You are pulled back and forth and all you feel is pain,
You delude yourself saying it is normal and you would endure,
This is news to you, wake up, you are not rubber.
Though the comics portray a super man,
He stretches beyond human imagination but then,
Elastic has its limit and when stretched so hard, something happens...
It Breaks. Hmm! You are not rubber because though rubber has so many characteristics that could explain your everyday life,
Yet, you are not rubber. Rubber melts, rubber slacks, rubber...
It also cuts and breaks.
Now your brows are furrowed with concentration wondering where this epistle of mine is leading to. I will not tell you what you are not and not tell you who you are.
Now here we go, You are Clay. What! You exclaim. Well before you judge me, please let me explain.
I know a God who calls me clay, a God who molds me like a skillful potter, though sometimes I go out of shape and say I have made a mistake, oh! The potter knows I am mere clay and so he picks and gentle gathers me together and makes me whole.
"Oh but Clay gets broken too" you argue but then, even in my broken state, he picks up my fragments and with his healing touch, he moulds me again.
Yes, though a righteous man falls seven times, he will surely rise again.
You are the clay, He is the potter and so he does with you only what he thinks Is best, you may not like the shape you are in but guess what? He is not done with you yet, when he finishes, you become a masterpiece.
With this I declare boldly" YOU ARE NOT RUBBER!!!"
